Fuse and Holder: Essential Components for Circuit Protection
A fuse is part of an Electrical Protection System, which operates to protect the electrical circuit of the devices it serves against overload and possible damage. The fuse consists of a metal piece that overheats, thus melting at a predetermined point to quickly interrupt the circuit when too much electrical current flows through it. Therefore, it prevents overheating and subsequent failure of the equipment or electrical fire hazards. The holder supports the fuse while making a proper electrical connection and allows for easy installation/replacement of the fuse. Together, a fuse and holder assembly is a simple yet very dependable means of providing circuit protection.
